HTMA Mission

As a non-profit organization, our purpose and objective is to preserve and perpetuate traditional music, instruments, and styles of rendition. This includes, but is not necessarily limited to, what is commonly referred to as folk, traditional, and old-time music. We strive to provide wholesome and informative family entertainment in each and every event we sponsor or participate in.

Since our objective is to preserve and encourage original and traditional styles and forms of music, we emphasize live performance of music (not-recorded or assisted by recordings) using natural, acoustic instruments and unaltered human voices. The only electronic processing utilized for our public performances and meetings is that of microphones and associated audio equipment for the purposes of better audibility in larger areas and/or before larger audiences than would be possible without those aids.

We accomplish our purpose and objectives through the

following activities and provisions:

Member concerts - performed as the HTMA. Proceeds from some performances or the performances themselves may be for charitable purposes.

Monthly meetings consisting of short business meetings, fellowship and "jam sessions"

Quarterly Newsletters

Various musical events for civic, social and charitable organizations offering opportunities for individual members or groups who desire to perform.
